Run long, strong and steady in the Defyance 4 running shoe from Brooks. The fit and feel of this long-distance runner is so seamlessly comfortable you may never want to stop. But no matter how many miles you log, a caterpillar crash pad on the lateral heel side ensures a smooth transition from heel-to-toe, creating a stable effective stride. An asymmetrical arch saddle ensures a snug, secure fit. The DEFYANCE 4 is a neutral shoe, but it has the same perfect fit as the top seller ADRENALINE GTS. It is flexible in the forefoot, and provides the necessary support in the heel and metatarsus, exactly where the keen runner needs it. The DEFYANCE damps optimally with the eco-friendly midsole BioMoGo. Different to its predecessor model, the latest version has the Caterpillar Crashpad, which provides a flowing transition from the initial contact in the heel of the foot right through to the press-down phase and take off from the toes. The upper is strengthened in the middle and guarantees more stability. In the neutral area, the Defyance has a varied range of applications and adapts itself to a large number of runners' feet through its significant fit. Element - mesh upper technology facilitates ventilation and vapor transfer. HPR PLUS - a higher durability, abrasion-resistant rubber outsole compound that wears longer. Pod Tech - A system of 'pods' in the midsole and outsole enabling the shoe to bend and flex more naturally while still supporting the foot at its most critical points. Rear and forefoot Hydroflow provides excellent cushioning and shock absorption. BIOMOGO - Brooks introduces the first-ever biodegradable running shoe midsole Signature PDRB triple-density post on the medial side of the shoe for industry-leading stability. DRB Accel A shank-like thermoplastic device provides torsional rigidity to the midfoot, enhancing support while allowing the heel and forefoot to act independently. What is HYDROFLOW? HydroFlow® is a system of chambers sitting under the heel area of the midsole. The contained silicone-oil compound dampens the impact of the foot on the ground and offers optimal shock absorbtion and comfort. HydroFlow® is used in all Brooks shoes.
